The leader of an inner city Aboriginal community in Darwin is looking for financial support to help improve the standard of living for residents.

David Timber says there have been rumours that the One Mile Dam community will be moved out of the Tank Farm area to make way for a residential development.

 

Mr Timber today launched the new Kumbutjil Association because he says the area has been neglected by the Aboriginal Development Foundation.

"We'll be looking for support and we've got a lot of outside help in trying to establish relationships with a lot of organisations to try and support us in what we want to do in the future," he said.
